THE STORY | WHERE IT ALL STARTED FOR US
Soulmates at first sight since we became colleagues in higher education in september 2017. From that moment onward, that memorable brainstorm for our very first project, we knew it… We strenghten each other’s creativity, work pleasure and passion. Both fan of inspiring statements and hungry for new adventures we launched Ghentsome.
A new brand in clothing & lifestyle to reflect our ’passionality’, raising the importance of a more sustainable 'fashion revolution' and providing new oxygen for our entrepreneurial ambitions. Get in touch! We love to stick with people who pull the magic out of us.
OUR VISION | A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
PREMIUM ORGANIC COTTON
Our premium organic cotton is a natural, GMO-free fibre that uses less water than standard cotton. The production of this type of organic cotton is guaranteed pesticides and fertiliser free. This keeps the soil in better condition, more fertile and humid. All cotton waste is recycled and used in the animal feed industry.
We mix our premium organic cotton with recycled polyester (up to 15%) in sweatshirts and hoodies to maintain shape. For every hoodie or sweatshirt you buy, a PET bottle is being recycled and thus reused. To ensure that our sweatshirts and hoodies are nice and soft against your skin, an extra layer of brushed premium cotton is added on the inside!
WHY WE CARE?
Well, here are 5 of our main reasons to buy organic & recycled apparel and accessories:
Protect the oceans from microfiber pollution
Protect the rights of the cotton farmers
Conserve global water and energy resources
Reduce your exposure to hazardous insecticides and pesticides
Help keep the food supply pesticide-free.
We will always focus on sustainabilty & quality and you will always get the right price. We want to inform you as clearly as possible about our pricing policy. Your shipping costs are not included and clearly indicated separately. When placing an order, the current prices and actions mentioned at the time of ordering always apply. We make great effort to display our website information as correctly as possible, but it is still possible that our information is incomplete or not up to date.

CERTIFICATIONS | MAKING THE DIFFERENCE
GOTS is the Global Organic Textile Standard label. The strictest certification for textiles made from organic fibres. GOTS tracks the entire chain of production from farm to factory. It certifies that our premium organic cotton is grown without the use of chemicals and is processed and dyed without using any harmful toxic substances. GOTS also ensures compliance with the labour standards of the International Labour Organisation throughout the whole chain of production.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifies the absence of harmful chemical substances in all products thanks to the “Confidence in textile” label. It's an independent testing and certification system that ensures that all our clothes are processed in a way that prioritises:
Avoid potentially harmful substances even where they are not (yet) legally banned
The absence of chemical substances that are harmful to health and the environment
A restriction on the lead content of dyes
Our clothes are also PeTA appoved. This means that we do not allow any animal tests on ingredients or finished products and promise you never to do so. On top of this, our apparel is made from 100% vegan materials.
FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION
All our items are made under the surveillance of the Fair Wear Foundation, a non-profit organisation that guarantees fair labour conditions. This means that the employment of the workers is freely chosen, there is no discremenation in employment, no child labour, no excessive working hours, all workers receive a living wage and a safe working environment.
